Prayer for A Host Family for our MCS student in Nashville, TN

Two days ago, the US Embassy in Bangkok has approved a Student visa for Phon to go the US in order to attend Lighthouse Christian School in Antioch (sub urban of Nashville), Tennessee.  Phon came to know Christ when he was just a young boy whose father (Joe) and mother (Sanguan) came to our ministry in Nonprasert, Thailand, and became believers.  Through these 10 years, Pon and I have taken personal interest to disciple this couple, along with with four children (one of them was Phon).  Both Joe and Sanguan attended Mekong Bible Seminary and graduated, now Sanguan serves as assistant teacher at our Mercy Christian School, and Joe heads up our metal construction team, working on constructing church buildings and other ministry-related building in order to expand God's kingdom.  Both of them are faith servants of the Lord.

Phon have surrendered to serve the Lord in whatever capacity the Lord has for him.  His desire is to go over to the US and study so that he might be able to return to Thailand and serve alongside us in our ministry.

We are thankful for the host family group (consisted of the Castles, Garcias, and Shalees), led by Tim and Deb Castle in Smyrna, Tennessee, who providing tuition scholarship for Phon as well as is seeking a home for Phon while he is studying in the US.

We would ask your prayer that a host family will be found who can continue to give godly input to the life of this young man and instill in him godly character and desires so that he will be a godly servant.

Special needs: $2,500 is needed for airfares, travel, and student visa expenses for Phon; additional $2,500 is needed for airfares for Pon and me to travel to the US.

Pon and I are planning to take Phon from Thailand to Nashville on the 8th of August.

Special Prayers Are Needed for the Mekong Super Conference 2010

This week is the last week to prepare for the: Mekong Super Conference for Church Leaders, October 25-29, Nonprasert Thailand During this time of the year, the Mekong Evangelical Mission (MEM) conducts Super Conference for leaders from across the country of Thailand as well as its neighboring country.  The Conference this year faces a number of obstacles but MEM thanks the Lord for our partners who are able to come and conduct the Conference for the second straight year.  They are First Baptist Church, Henderson, KY, and Hope Baptist Church, Las Vegas, NV.  First Baptist Church is pastored by Dr. Todd Linn and Hope Baptist Church, Bro. Vance Pitman.

Special prayers are needed for the final week of preparation.  The rainfalls thus far have been unusual this year.  Ask that God would have His way in the hearts of those who will be attending the Conference as well as travel mercy for our partners.

The theme of this year's Conference is:  Strengthen the Hands of the Nationals for the Work of the Ministry.  Many special courses would be offered.  Preaching and teaching sessions will highlight the weeklong conference.  Most importantly, around 500-600 students from our Mercy Christian School will also be participating in VBS conducted by our partners as well.
